Tim Herlihy

Tim is a business leader with over 25 years’ experience as a C-Level Executive across industries such as financial & professional services, technology, property and human capital management. He has strong credentials in executive management, operations, finance and transformational behavioural change.

Committed to being a pioneer in role modelling the way men can combine career and family responsibilities, Tim has kept a life diary throughout his executive career that dedicated time to his four pillars of success; family relationships, career, health and interests, actively integrating his role as a business leader with that of being a working father rather than being defined solely by his work.

Tim has been a sponsor of multiple major business transformation and change management projects and has a deep understanding of how teams operate and perform in a rapidly changing business landscape where the move to outcome-focused virtual teams and away from functional teams are becoming the norm.

As a Co-owner, Director & COO, Tim’s commercial and financial background has supported sustainable business growth for How Do You Do It, ensuring the appropriate infrastructure, processes and governance are established at each stage. He has been instrumental in developing the business model and technological capabilities of the company, to allow for scale and the increasingly international nature of the business.

He is passionate about the behavioural change How Do You Do It is achieving in partnership with clients and is particularly interested in the changing nature of fatherhood and the way teams are being managed for the future that is increasingly flexible.

Virginia Herlihy

Virginia Herlihy is a leader and innovator in executive coaching, corporate training, and facilitation. She founded How Do You Do It soon after becoming a working parent when it became clear to her that there were few support programmes for career families managing responsibilities at work and home.

Using her years of experience as an executive coach, trainer and facilitator, Virginia has developed award-winning programmes that include individuals, their managers and their organisations to positively impact the retention and progression of diverse talent, particularly working parents.

In the 14 years since Virginia founded How Do You Do It, she has evolved the remit of the company to meet the requirements of today’s organisations.  “Increasingly organisations are realising the business benefits of offering a culture of flexibility that enables all employees, not just parents to balance work and home life. This has allowed us to use our expertise with parents to design specific programmes that support people across an organisation at all different stages of life.”

Virginia’s passion and expertise have delivered impressive results to a range of clients including Deloitte, Microsoft, Allen & Overy, GPT, Kingwood Mallesons, The BBC, and Westpac. They have also helped her to attract a Dream Team of coaches and facilitators. These experts share her vision, skills and priorities and deliver the same dedication and results to How Do You Do It clients across Australia and EMEA.

Virginia is a member of CEW, an alliance partner of the Australian Gender Equality Council and part of Global Women Leaders – a philanthropic women’s giving circle.
