Women for Women International
With the plight of women caught up in war only too apparent at the moment, How Do You Do It is honoured to support Women for Women International, a fantastic charity that supports women survivors of war to build their lives. Our involvement will give us the privilege of sponsoring a women survivor of war as she joins a year-long training programme to help increase her life chances and those of her immediate community.
Women For Women’s ‘Stronger Women, Stronger Nations’ programme builds women’s self-reliance in four key areas: earning and savings; rights and decision-making; health and wellness; and support networks. Through the programme, women receive hands-on vocational training in a variety of sectors and are supported to start small businesses, build networks and to take on leadership roles in their communities. Reaching over 500 000 women since 1993, Women for Women also runs a Men’s Engagement Programme to help men become allies in the fight for gender equality, a Change Agents Programme that supports women to have influence within their community and a Conflict Response Fund; working with partners to support women caught in conflict right now.
